Our Bees Spread their Wings up in the Mountains

With demand on the rise for its Made In Earth bee honey products, MIE Team has expanded its operations upwards, into the hills of Belihuloya. With a cool climate and diverse flora, Belihuloya is an ideal location for bees to happily flourish and produce high quality honey. At the outset, with technical support from the local Agrarian Services Centre in Rathnapura, 10 bee colonies will be set up in the premises of the River Garden Resort as a pilot project. Thereafter, with the continued support of the Centre, Eco Team hopes to expand operations by engaging the local community and getting them involved in cultivating honey. If this project is successful, Made in Earth would purchase their entire harvest, thereby providing the local community with much needed economic support.
