Resuming flight operations between Colombo and few major cities around the world 

Airport Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka(AASL) has announced a few resuming connections and started a couple of new flights between Colombo and major international airports around the world. Flights to Mosow, Zurich and 9 major cities in India will resume after the pandemic while a new flight operation from Paris to Colombo by Air France will commence in November. Two operators have scheduled flights between Colombo and Moscow enabling more Russians to Celebrate Christmas & New year in Sri Lanka.

Bienvenue Air France! 

35 years after the last time they visited Sri Lanka, Air France will once again land in Katunayake! Encouraged by the excellent vaccination programme and Health & Safety Guidelines enforced across the Island, Air France has announced the commencement of direct flights between Paris and Colombo starting from the 1st of November. There will be 3 flights per week on Mondays, Thursdays & Saturdays originating from Paris via Male, Maldives with return flights departing from Colombo on Tuesdays, Fridays & Sundays. In addition to Air France, the national carrier of Switzerland - Swiss Air Lines, has also confirmed 2 weekly flights between Zurich and Colombo starting from the 4th of November. The 2 weekly flights will depart Zurich every Thursday & Saturday and the return flights will depart from Colombo every Friday & Sunday. The flights will be operated by Edelweiss Air, a leading Swiss Leisure Airline.

Zdravstvuyte Moskva, we’ve missed you! 

After a break of 6 years, Sri Lankan Airlines has once again commenced flights to Moscow, Russia. A weekly flight between Colombo‛s Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) and Moscow‛s Domodedovo Airport (DME) has been scheduled, to enable Russian Tourists to visit Sri Lanka at a more affordable cost. A flight will depart from Colombo every Friday and arrive in Moscow on Saturday morning. The flight will return from Moscow on Saturday evening and reach Colombo on Sunday morning.

Sri Lanka welcomes travellers from all over India

With the borders being opened up, Sri Lankan Airlines has announced that it will operate 16 scheduled flights from 9 cities around India. Out of those - 4 of them will be weekly flights to Chennai, three flights to Mumbai, 2 flights each to Hyderabad & New Delhi and once-a-week flights to Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, Trivandrum and Cochin. Taking advantage of the open borders, Air India and IndiGo have also announced flights to Sri Lanka. Air India has scheduled 2 weekly flights from Chennai and 1 from Delhi, and IndiGo has scheduled 3 weekly flights from Chennai & Mumbai and a weekly flight from Cochin.
