Empowering the Youth of Uva Province

The Australia Awards Programme in Sri Lanka with the support of Sri Lanka Tourism, The Ministry of Tourism Promotion of the Uva Province and other industry experts, launched an empowerment project on the 5th of September. This project aims to train and empower 20 youth from the area, as formal Area Tourist Guides of the Uva Province. Our very own Nishanthi Kulathunga from Experiential Journeys (Pvt.) Ltd. will function as a resource person in this programme, which is scheduled to be conducted over a 3 month period. Upon successful completion of the programme, the participants will be awarded an official Area Tourist Guide Licence by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority.
