Sanda – Your Local Guide

Meet Udu Karunarathna, fondly known as “Sanda,” a passionate female guide with a love for nature, culture, and adventure. With a special interest in hiking and trekking, she brings over 20 years of expertise in the tourism industry.

Sanda holds professional qualifications from the Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management and has worked with prestigious international hotel chains including Hilton and Intercontinental, as well as leading Sri Lankan hotels such as Koggala Beach and The Fortress.

Her connection to the Pekoe Trail is personal and extensive—she has already completed 8 of its 22 stages and can often be found guiding travelers through the scenic landscapes of Stage 1. With her knowledge, warmth, and experience, Sanda ensures every journey along the trail is both memorable and insightful.
