AUSLMAT Pedal Sri Lanka

We are pleased to announce that Pedal Sri Lanka August 2025 was successfully completed on 31st August with the participation of 18 individuals, including both riders and medical professionals. The primary purpose of this initiative was to raise funds in support of three major children’s hospitals in Sri Lanka—Lady Ridgeway Hospital in Colombo, Sirimavo Bandaranayake Children’s Hospital in Kandy, and the new District General Hospital in Matara. To date, the fundraiser has successfully reached over AUD 64,000, with contributions continuing for the next few months. In addition to supporting these hospitals, the expedition also extended its benefits to a less-facilitated school in Sigiriya and the local community in Tissamaharama.

Over the course of 14 days, the team cycled approximately 460 km across diverse landscapes of the island, along with a 31 km stretch on the Pekoe Trail, providing participants the unique opportunity to experience Sri Lanka’s cultural backyards and connect closely with its people and surroundings.
