In keeping with our ethos of playing an active role in sustainability and conservation, we are proud to report that the Mahoora Tented Safari Camp has now embarked on a new journey to test out our new sustainable roofing style - Cadjan and treated palmyra leaves. In keeping with our ethos of playing an active role in sustainability and conservation, we are proud to report that the Mahoora Tented Safari Camp has now embarked on a new journey to test out our new sustainable roofing style - Cadjan and treated palmyra leaves. An age-old roofing method - sustainable and environmentally friendly - we are now trying this out at Mahoora Yala - now.A conscious decision was taken to minimise the usage of artificial material at the site, this in turn benefits the local community of Cadjan Weavers and traditional roofing experts of the villages as well. This is a great way to minimise the heat within the tents during the daytime when less energy will be spent on cooling the tents via the usage of electricity as well.
